Melbourne Story Slams
La Trobe University is offering a suite of five story writing workshops in Term 2.
Designed specifically for Year 10 students, these workshops by well-known writers for children and young adults deliver fun and practical exercises to:
- Sharpen students’ understanding of story plot and structure
- Hone sentence and language skills for clarity and power
- Develop skills in analytical reading of texts
- Inspire a sense of joy in storytelling

During the workshops, students from different schools will mingle, providing an opportunity to encounter a range of abilities, writing styles and enthusiasm for different genres of reading.
Following the workshops, students will relax in the lounge with their lunch and enjoy a 20 minute Q&A panel with the workshop leaders.
