Bendigo Story Slams

La Trobe University is offering a suite of five creative writing workshops in Term 2.

Designed specifically for Year 10 students, these workshops by well-known writers will be structured around fun and practical exercises to:

  • Sharpen students’ understanding of plot, structure and genre
  • Develop confidence in language skills for clarity and power
  • Offer insights and tips into the analytical reading of texts
  • Inspire a sense of joy in storytelling

2016 workshop details


During the workshops, students from different schools will mingle, providing an opportunity to encounter a range of abilities, writing styles and enthusiasm for different genres of reading.

Following the workshops, students will relax in the lounge with their lunch and enjoy a 20 minute Q&A panel with the workshop leaders.
