  • Autism Victoria (Australia) is the place to call for information and advice for anyone interested in finding out more about Autism Spectrum Disorders, especially if you live in Victoria, Australia.
  • Early Days Workshops - a national workshops program for Australian mothers, fathers and other family carers of children on the Autism Spectrum.

    With Government funding totalling $6.6 million over two years as part of the $190 million Helping Children with Autism package, Early Days workshops will be held in every state and territory.

  • Raising Children Network - a special part of the Australkian Parenting Website, this is a valuable online source of information about autism, services, therapies and a forum with other parents.
  • Australasian Autism Research Collaboration - Their aims are:
    • To further research in the understanding, detection, prevention and treatment of autism.
    • To provide forums for the sharing and exchange of research within Australasia.
    • To encourage and establish collaborative research.
    • To provide support, encouragement, and a forum for new researchers, including research higher degree students.
    • To promote and establish international research linkages and collaborations.
    • To establish practice guidelines in education, treatment and diagnosis.
    • To seek funding for research.
    • To establish and maintain a national register/data base/website to promote and report research and projects relevant to ASD.
    • To foster evidence-based practice in the delivery of services to the ASD community.
  • ACT NOW Project at Monash University -

    This project is now in Stage 3. Their focus during stage three is on journal clubs, case study groups, master classes, updating the ‘Autism in the Preschool Years’ manual and supporting clinicians who are providing the ‘Preschoolers with Autism Parent Education and Skills Training Programme’. They will continue to expand the website with fact sheets and update the regional training calendars. We will also provide a series of training workshops to the Specialist Children’s Services Central Intake Teams on best practice, screening and assessment and working effectively with parents.
    In line with the goals of the Early Childhood Intervention Services vision and key priorities statement (DEECD, 2003), the aim of the ACT-NOW strategy has been to build skills and capacity across each DEECD region in Victoria in the area of Early Childhood (0-6 years)

  • Positive Partnerships - This is a a consortium comprising Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect), University of Canberra, Autism South Australia and the Department of Education & Training, Western Australia who deliver services for DEEWR under the Australian Government's Helping Children with Autism package. At this site parents and professionals can undergo online training. You need to register, but that is free.
