  • The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT)

ASAT is not a business with a particular agenda. They are not promoting or selling anything. Their mission is to share accurate, scientifically sound information about autism and treatments for autism.

  • Autism Centre of Excellence and Healthy Infant Development Laboratory - USA - This center is dedicated to understanding how brain structure and function contribute to the health and well-being of all children.  Their studies aim to discover powerful brain biomarkers that will one day allow doctors and parents to identify babies at risk for developmental disorder.
  • Autism Research Centre - UK - The mission of the ARC is to understand the biomedical causes of autism spectrum conditions, and develop new and validated methods for assessment and intervention. The ARC fosters collaboration between scientists in Cambridge University and outside, to accelerate this mission.
  • Autism Research - Canada/USA -

Through their research projects, seek to:

    1. uncover the different environmental and genetic factors that may contribute to the development of an ASD,
    2. identify subgroups of ASDs,
    3. develop methods for earlier and easier identification of an ASD, and

  • The Canadian Autism Intervention Research Network (CAIRN) This group was started in 2001 by a group of researchers and clinicians who saw the need to involve parents, other professionals, and policy makers in the development of new ways of diagnosing and treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Many treatments used to this day have little scientific evidence that they work, although there are treatments available that are backed by sound research. The CAIRN Web site was created so that knowledge about what works and what doesn’t could be communicated to as many people as possible. The CAIRN website continues to be a source of the latest and best evidence on autism for parents and others looking for quality information they can trust.
  • The Groden Centre - In 1976, Drs. June and Gerald Groden opened the Groden Center in response to the absence of effective services for persons with autism and other developmental challenges. Thirty years later, the program has expanded its services to children, teens, and adults with a range of learning and behavioral disabilities in Rhode Island. It is a school and residential treatment center for children and youth with autism, behavioral disorders, and developmental disabilities.
  • Interactive Autism Network - USA -

The Interactive Autism Network (IAN) is an innovative online project bringing together tens of thousands of people affected by autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and hundreds of researchers in a search for answers. Individuals with ASD and their families can share information in a secure setting to become part of the largest online autism research effort in the United States. The data collected by IAN both facilitates scientific research and empowers community leaders to advocate for improved services and resources. In addition, anyone impacted by an ASD can become part of IAN's online community to stay informed about autism research and make their voices heard. Watch the IAN Parents Video, to find out more.
