Early Diagnostic Clinic for Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre is pleased to announce the opening of the Early Diagnostic Clinic at La Trobe University specializing in early assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) in children up to 36 months. We are committed to early identification and diagnosis of ASDs so that children and their families may have access to the earliest possible support to promote positive developmental outcomes.

Irene Giaprakis conducts intake and assessments at the Early Diagnostic Clinic. Prior the Clinic opening this year, she worked as a Research Assistant on the Social Attention Communication Study and its Follow Up Study conducting assessments on children up to four years of age. Irene holds degrees in Arts, Laws (Honours), and Behavioural Science (Honours) and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is a trained facilitator of the parent education program,Tuning In To Kids, as well as being certified to use the MSCEIT (Mayer Salovey Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test). Irene comes from a positive psychology perspective; she is passionate about the positive health and wellbeing effects of prevention and early intervention.
