Department of Clinical Vision Sciences Clinical Education
Clinical education and practice is a significant part of the Bachelor of Orthoptic and Ophthalmic Sciences undergraduate course. The overall aim of the clinical practice subjects throughout the course is to equip students with sufficient skills to enable them to work as independent practitioners. Clinical experience is a large and integral part of the course as it serves to build on and consolidate the theory presented in the classroom, with regard to investigation, detection, diagnosis and management techniques. This area of the Department website aims to familiarise clinical educators with the expected levels of student abilities throughout the course. It also contains the rules and regulations to which students are expected to adhere. A further aim is to raise awareness among public viewers and other professionals of the standard of clinical education that our orthoptic training program provides. The Department of Clinical Vision Sciences has a Clinical Education Coordinator who is responsible for the academic aspects of the Clinical Education Program, and a Clinical Education Administrator. Either may be contacted should you have any inquiries about the Department's Clinical Education Program, placements or schedules. Clinical Education Coordinator Clinical Education Administrator
