Research Interests

Very broadly, my research interests lie in the social/human aspects of outdoor education. My current research interests, which are linked to my teaching of Year 2 Community subject, lie in the area of social ecology & community development, in particular the current and future role of outdoor education in social and environmental change.

I am also interested in gender-related issues and the broader question of inclusivity in outdoor education. Recently conducted research into 'sense of competence' in practical activities of our course, examining gender-related issues in perceptions of participation and of teaching.
