Occupational Therapy Professional Development Opportunities Advanced Clinical Reasoning & Decision Making (OCT5CRD /OCT6CRD) Presented by Assoc. Prof. Carolyn Unsworth, BAppSc (OT), PhD, OTR This unit includes five one day workshops examining clinical reasoning and decision making and how these support the clinical practice in an interdisciplinary environment. It is available to occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, and other suitably qualified health professionals. It may also suit qualified health professionals enrolled in professional doctorate and Masters by coursework degrees. It explores the development of professional knowledge and the relationship between theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. While theoretical knowledge is traditionally thought to be developed separately from the clinical setting, this unit examines how theoretical knowledge and clinical practice can inform each other. Literature to support this unit is drawn from disciplines such as medicine, education and allied health sciences.
