Background:

My involvement in the education of students of nursing has particular emphasis on the classroom-clinical interface. I teach in the undergraduate program, coordinating professional nursing studies, health assessment and nursing therapeutics and practice subjects. I am committed to the inquiry based learning approach.

My research interests are in the area of clinical teaching and learning, in particular educators/students' experiences of learning and assessment of clinical performance.

In 1992 I completed Palliative Care Volunteer training and acted as a community and hospital volunteer. Recently I started undertaking regular Faculty Practice in palliative care units. In 2000 I am involved in a research study which aims to investigate and compare the attitudes and practices of health care professionals on the day a person dies in a hospital, hospice or aged care facility.
