Welcome to the Division of Nursing and Midwifery research information site. My name is Dr Susan Koch and I am the Director of Research and Higher Degrees in the Division of Nursing and Midwifery. My role is to assist you in enquires regarding your research interests or application to our higher degree courses. The Division is a leader in nursing and midwifery research. Our research is focussed on:

  • Older people - issues of care: sexuality, pain assessment and management, family interactions
  • Cancer and Palliative Care
  • Community Nursing - including evidence based community nursing, health of veterans, quality of life and carer issues.
  • Mental Health Nursing - including the management of aggression, staff relations in the workplace and psychological aspects of care.
  • Midwifery - including clinical practice interventions in maternal, perinatal and neonatal care and women's reproductive health.

The Division has a research centre; and Research in Supportive Care (RISC). More information about these research centres is available from their web sites.
