In 2008, the Division of Nursing and Midwifery signed an agreement and partnership with Aged Care Services Australia Group Pty Ltd (ACSAG), one of Australia’s leading providers of aged care. They are enthusiastically committed to continuously improving aged care in Australia. Their vision and dedication have developed through years of experience and by studying best practice throughout the world. They continually work to understand the needs of their residents and strive to provide the highest level of care possible.
Through this partnership, they have appointed a Director of Research, Dr Julie Ellis, who has been employed at La Trobe University for 20 years teaching and researching in Aged Care. She is based at Central Park, ACSAG’s largest premium facility. Through the research program, ACSAG expects to enhance aged care provision and also shed light on the quality of care and calibre of nurses required to provide this outstanding level of care. The collaboration will encourage students to experience aged care first hand, and will potentially increase their exposure to this rewarding and dynamic industry.
