La Trobe/Austin Health Clinical School of Nursing Research
The La Trobe/Austin Health Clinical School is home to the Research in Supportive Care (RISC) research centre headed by Professor Annette Street. RISC conducts high quality interdisciplinary research in supportive care for individuals and families living with cancer, chronic or life-limiting illnesses across the life span and in all health care settings. RISC has established national and international research partnerships. The program is informed by a set of strategic priorities for supportive care and a commitment to a strong evidence base to improve health outcomes.
As well as research into cancer and palliative care the Clinical School also has research programs investigating patient vulnerability, neuroscience nursing, continence nursing and the transitional experiences of graduate nurses.
