Find Your Clever at La Trobe

La Trobe University will host its biggest Open Day event at its Bundoora campus on Sunday, 6 August.

Prospective students and their parents will get the chance to learn about La Trobe’s courses, speak with teaching staff and past and current students, tour the university’s world-class facilities, try out virtual reality technology and even rub shoulders with an AFL star.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar said the theme of Open Day 2017 is “Find Your Clever” and he encouraged students and parents to attend.

“There is a world of possibilities waiting for you at La Trobe and you should come along and see for yourselves what’s on offer,” Professor Dewar said.

“This year’s Open Day promises to be our biggest and the best. It will be a more interactive and personal experience for prospective students.

“We will have more alumni, course co-ordinators, academics and students available for tours and presentation to give you the best possible glimpse of what life as a La Trobe student is really like.

“Being ranked in the top 2 per cent of universities in the world means that we are well placed to help you to be the best that you can be, prepare you for rewarding careers, connect you to the right people in your chosen field and help you adapt to the changing world around you.”

Professor Dewar said the La Trobe’s Open Day would be informative and fun.

The University’s newest facility, the state-of-the-art Donald Whitehead Building, will open for prospective Business and Commerce students to inspect.

A modern and impressive building, it allows students to step into the business world. It features a data analytics lab, a stock trading room and a studio for recording presentations at the touch of a button.
