Pro-Vice Chancellor (Regional) Professor Richard Speed said that O-Week was an opportunity to welcome new students to La Trobe University’s regional campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Mildura and Shepparton.
‘La Trobe University offers a range of excellent courses that address the social and environmental issues of our time, attracting students from across Australia and around the world. Our regional campuses will be their home for the duration of their studies and O-Week activities will help to familiarise them with their new environments,’ said Professor Speed.
‘The academic events that have been organised for O-Week will present information on their courses and the support networks that are available to help them with their studies, while the social activities will encourage them to make new friends.’
‘Many students are attracted to our regional campuses because of smaller class sizes and the friendly and approachable academic staff, while some students choose La Trobe University so that they can be closer to their families.’
O-Week will take place at the following campuses:
- Albury-Wodonga: Wednesday 26 February – Friday 28 February
- Bendigo: Tuesday 25 February – Friday 28 February
- Melbourne Campus: Tuesday 25 February – Friday 28 February
- Mildura: Thursday 27 February – Friday 28 February
- Shepparton: Tuesday 25 February – Thursday 27 February
New students are encouraged to build their own personalised orientation plan or download the La Trobe University smartphone orientation app here.
