La Trobe academics share Aztec expertise

Academics from La Trobe University say the Aztec civilisation has left a powerful legacy in Mexico and beyond.

Dr Ralph Newmark is the Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies, and he, along with some of his colleagues, are sharing their expertise with the Melbourne public during Melbourne Museum's Aztec exhibition.

The exhibition showcases artefacts from the fascinating Aztec civilisation that flourished in Central America and then declined abruptly with the arrival of the Spanish in 1519.
