Sydney campus to be officially set up

A new La Trobe University campus location is set to be created in Sydney to cater to both international and Australian students in the harbour city.

La Trobe University has reached an agreement with global education services provider Navitas Limited to renew its arrangement with the Australian Campus Network (ACN) in Sydney for another ten years under the new name ‘La Trobe University Sydney Campus’ (LTUSC).

LTUSC, formerly ACN, has been operated by Navitas as a managed campus for La Trobe University since 2005.

The renewed agreement will commence on 31 December 2013. It means LTUSC will be relocated to Navitas’ Wynyard Green education precinct above Wynyard Green train station in the heart of Sydney.

In addition the agreement will allow students studying at LTUSC to complete diplomas offered by Navitas’ La Trobe Melbourne college at the Wynyard Green campus.

La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar signed the agreement on Thursday 12 December in Melbourne.

‘La Trobe University is excited about this new phase of our relationship with Navitas in Sydney and the strengthening of the connections between La Trobe Melbourne and the Sydney campus,’ Professor Dewar said.

‘We look forward to continuing to work with Navitas to provide new opportunities for students to enjoy the advantages of a La Trobe University education in Sydney.’
