New resource for high school students

La Trobe University has developed a new online resource to help high school students in years 10 and above better understand university.

A series of short videos that explain where the students’ chosen subjects may lead, the prerequisites for uni courses and pathways to higher education, and explanations of ATAR and Clearly In is now available at http://www.latrobe.edu.au/year10.

The site aims to assist students to make decisions about subjects that will support their particular interests and to clarify some of the terminology that is used when they apply for university places. It also explains the various pathways that are available to them should they not be offered a place through VTAC.

Parents and high school students in Year 10 and above can find out more at a combined parents and students information evening. Topics for students include ATAR, scaling and assumed knowledge, subject selections, career pathways and university transition.

so-very-happyTopics to be covered for parents include making career decisions; gaining entry to university; life as a university student; transition to university and support for students; study costs and financial support; and resources available for parents and students.
