New ad campaign ‘Make a Difference’
La Trobe University will make a bold appearance during prime time television on Sunday night as it launches its latest ‘Make a Difference’ campaign on Network 10, Channel Seven and PRIME.
This latest set of advertisements will introduce target audiences to some of La Trobe’s exciting ‘thought leaders’ and will build on the success of the previous brand campaign Thinking Aloud, which encouraged audiences to take a second look at La Trobe and differentiate the University from competitors such as Deakin and RMIT.
La Trobe’s Marketing and Brand Strategy Director, Nicola Reynolds said the advertisements will screen at a critical time in the highly competitive tertiary-sector market place, and people featured in the commercials represent the true essence of La Trobe.
‘Each of our ‘thought leaders’ live and demonstrate the La Trobe brand through their own unique story,' says Ms. Reynolds. 'Their current and planned career choice contributes to making a difference in their chosen discipline.’
The 30 second commercial features La Trobe physics lecturer Dr David Hoxley, Alumni law student and current CEO and Founder of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Kon Karapanagiotidis OAM, as well as a number of current students.
While prospective students made preliminary university choices in September, Ms Reynolds believe this will change in November with the release of final exam marks and scores.
The Make a Difference brand campaign carries an important and relevant message in time to compliment the previous phases of the Preferences campaign currently in the tertiary education market.
The La Trobe University community is encouraged to get behind this new campaign, which will compliment the current Preferences campaign.
The Make a Difference commercial will air until December 16. Other forms of the advertisement will feature on outdoor portraits, billboards at train stations, a mega tram external wrap and mixed-size press ads appearing in The Age and Herald Sun newspapers as well as cinema advertising from Boxing Day.
