La Trobe Business School’s Department of Finance and Department of Accounting are proud to present the 3rd annual conference on Financial Markets and Corporate Governance and associated PhD Symposium on 11 to 13 April.
A premier international conference in the area of finance, accounting and corporate governance, the event includes a PhD Symposium with students’ workshops, keynotes from renowned academics, presentation of more than a hundred research papers from around the world and practitioners’ sessions on funds management and bank regulations.
Conference Chair, La Trobe’s Associate Professor in Finance Dr Balasingham Balachandran encourages guests both nationally and internationally to attend this important annual event.
‘The highlight of the conference will be the recognition of the significant contribution the University of Western Australia’s Professor Philip Brown has made to capital market-based research in accounting and finance,’ says Dr Balachandran
The practitioners’ sessions on funds management will deal with the global issue of appropriate fee structures for fund managers and performance, while the sessions on bank regulations aims to shed light on regulation and the role of the government on the structure of the financial system.
The Australia-New Zealand Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee will also present a report on dealing with systemically important financial institutions.
Keynote academic sessions include:
- Biases in publishing in U.S. journals and what you can do about them;
