Jennifer Peasley appointed Librarian

Jennifer Peasley has been appointed La Trobe University Librarian a role she will begin in January.
Ms Peasley is Deputy University Librarian at Macquarie University where she has worked for the past eight years. She has an enviable record of impressive achievements, including the delivery of a new state-of-the-art library building using automated storage and retrieval systems, and the development of the library’s learning and teaching support and research support strategies.
Prior to joining Macquarie University, Ms Peasley worked at the State Library of New South Wales where she was Business Manager (information Technology) before becoming Assistant Director (IT Operations).
'I am very pleased to be joining La Trobe and working with the library team to make a significant contribution to the support of research, learning and teaching at the University' said Ms Peasley.
Ms Peasley joins La Trobe at a crucial moment for the tertiary sector as the advance of digital technology presents significant challenge and opportunities for universities.
‘I am delighted Jennifer has accepted the appointment,’ said Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar.
‘Jennifer comes to La Trobe with a strong record of innovation and service improvement at Macquarie University where she was instrumental in the planning and development of a new library.
‘Her vision of the 21st Century library is compelling and sees the library as a dynamic resource to be increasingly accessed by students, staff and the wider community. I look forward to welcoming Jennifer to La Trobe in the new year,’ said Professor Dewar.
