Unique opportunity for IT students
While year 12 students are in the midst of preparing for their final exams and deciding what they want to do next year, La Trobe University is offering prospective students a chance to earn an income while they study.
The unique IT Branded Cadetship program allows students enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional) to be employed on their first day with one of La Trobe’s Industry partners. Students will work full-time, be given time to study part-time at university and be mentored and supported by an Industry Partner workplace coach.
Aspiring IT professionals can apply for the cadetship at the La Trobe website: www.latrobe.edu.au/iibit. Applications close Friday 30 September, interested students can find out more at an information session to be held at the Visual Arts Centre in Bendigo on Thursday 1 September.
The information session will explain how the program works and the many benefits involved for enrolled students. Industry Partners: Bendigo Bank, Bendigo IT, Community Telcos and Integrating Technology, will also be in attendance to further describe how the cadetship program is integrated in their workplace.
Successful cadetship applicants will gain practical experience and exposure to IT and business professionals, not usually provided in an academic environment. They will also gain insight into IT practice, organisational structures, cultures and methodologies.
