Human Resource degree recognised
La Trobe’s Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) gives students the knowledge and skills integral to a career in human resource management.
It was designed to develop the capabilities specified by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) in the AHRI Model of Excellence, which governs the requirements for professional accreditation and provides internationally transferable competencies and skills. The AHRI’s accreditation of the course confirms its place among top-ranking human resource programs in Australia.
Professor of International Management & Strategy at La Trobe University’s School of Management, Professor Peter Dowling, says the AHRI accreditation process is a demanding and time-consuming exercise which requires applicants to meet stringent standards.
‘The AHRI accreditation committee contacts practitioner referees and student referees to validate the claims in the accreditation application that the key requirements for AHRI accreditation have been met,’ says Professor Dowling.
Our graduates will benefit from the cycle of continuous improvement built into this accreditation process.’
Accreditation is more than just a seal of approval for La Trobe’s Human Resource program, meeting the required standards of such an achievement lifts the quality of the course.
‘There is no doubt that this process has improved the quality of our HR program,’ says Professor Dowling.
The benefits of an advisory board with HR professionals has greatly assisted the Human Resources Discipline at La Trobe,’ he adds.
