La Trobe University begins its Regional Review
La Trobe University today released an Issues Paper which outlines the background and context for its review of the University’s regional strategy and investment in regional Victoria.
The Review, announced in early August, begins formally this week. The Issues Paper is available via a dedicated Regional Review website accessed from the University’s Home Page.
The objectives of the review are to
* Promote access to higher education in central and northern Victoria
* Improve the quality of courses
* Ensure regional campuses are effective contributors to the University’s and the communities’ research efforts, and
* Ensure the financial sustainability of the University’s regional presence.
The Review will also be investigating structures and processes that could be best developed to seek ongoing advice from local communities.
Members of the University and interested external stakeholders are invited to lodge submissions to assist the University in determining its future directions in regional Victoria.
The deadline for submissions is 6 October 2006.
