Nuclear Future? The Uranium Debate and Australia's Energy Options
As debate flares up once again in the ALP over the party's policies on uranium mining, the La Trobe University Politics Society will present an evening of discussion on the politics of uranium mining and nuclear energy in Australia.
The forum - with Dave Sweeney from the Australian Conservation Foundation, and Ian Hore-Lacy from the industry-funded Uranium Information Centre - will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, 15 August 2006 Martin Building, Room 362 on La Trobe University's main Melbourne campus at Bundoora. (Carpark 7 recommended.)
Professor Andrew Brennan, who teaches environmental philosophy at La Trobe University, will be mediating the discussion. Contributions and questions from the audience are welcome.
Cost: $5 ($3 for La Trobe Politics Society members). Admission includes refreshments. Bookings are recommended. Enquiries/bookings to vcstead@students.latrobe.edu.au
