Rhys Isaac Prize boosted with 40K gift

Rhys IsaacAn anonymous donor has donated $40K to the Rhys Isaac Prize.  La Trobe University has established the Rhys Isaac Prize in honour of internationally-renowned historian Professor Rhys Isaac who passed away in 2010. 

Professor Isaac was a long-standing academic at La Trobe University. During his long and illustrious career Professor Isaac received the prestigious American Pulitzer Prize for History, the only Australian ever to do so. 

The prize will be used to recognise the best PhD thesis from a Humanities student researching in an area that coincides with Professor Isaac’s own interests, including English, Anthropology, Sociology, Archaeology and History.
