Alumnus conservationist seeks volunteers

ThomasAward winning alumnus and international conservationist Jim Thomas is seeking volunteers for his Tenkile Conservation Alliance (TCA) in Papua New Guinea.

TCA is a non-government organisation (NGO) established in the remote Torricelli Mountain Range in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The organisation is saving two critically endangered tree kangaroo species from becoming extinct as well as working closely with the 50 villages who are the landowners of these animals. Community development, education as well as research are the TCA's key priorities.

Jim Thomas (pictured left with his family) completed a Bachelor of Science (Botany, Zoology) in 1995 and is a distinguished La Trobe alumnus. Jim is putting a call-out to interested La Trobe alumni, staff and students to volunteer with the TCA in Papua New Guinea. If you are over 21, fit and keen to make a difference in conservation this may be the life-changing experience you have been looking for.

For more information or to register your interest as a volunteer, please contact Jim Thomas.
