Reading lists system change

New reading lists system

The Library is changing its systems in 2014 to enhance the student experience and deliver efficiencies for academic staff, the Library and our University.

All requests for reading list material are now being managed in the new Reading Lists @ La Trobe system.

All reading lists in new system

Library staff are moving all current 2013 reading lists together with all new 2014 lists into the new software. The list will then be published and linked from the relevant subject/unit in the Library block in the Learning Management System.

Adding recommended readings

Initially, the readings will appear in the system  as one alphabetical list. Academic staff may want to add recommended readings, update or change the list and organise it into weekly or other categories.

In order to do this, please contact Olga Tilkeridis on ext. 2925 at Bundoora, Beth Flack ext. 7716 at Bendigo, or Helen Bartlett ext. 9601 at Albury-Wodonga, or email Reading Lists for more information and arrange a demonstration.

Alternatively, you can teach yourself to use the Reading Lists @ La Trobe system, following the manual (Word doc 4.3Mb) or the quickstart guide (PDF 1Mb)

More about Reading Lists @ La Trobe

Our new reading list management system will enable academic staff to collect resources from both the library catalogue and wider web to build dynamic online reading lists. The system uses an easy drag and drop interface to build reading lists more efficiently.

Current reading lists in the new system can be viewed online. For more information go to Teaching Services on the Library's website or contact one of the staff listed above.
