What a turn out!
The Confucius Institute managed to score a stall right in the middle of the Agora, the liveliest area of the campus, providing a fantastic opportunity to promote Chinese language and culture to the University community and general public!
While the photo show, ancient books and artworks, promotional brochures, activities and gifts were all standouts, the most popular activity of the day was students and parents trying their hand at calligraphy and writing their names in Chinese! The Confucius Institute staff explained the meaning of each character and taught the correct pronunciation - some laughs were had!
Because we're such a barrel of fun, our activity-based introductions to Chinese language and culture captured the interests of over 2,000 people. Many of them were nice enough to participate in our survey so that we could better learn their interests.
Many people commented that this event has helped them to have a better knowledge of the Confucius Institute.
