Selva Murugesan successfully completed an internship with Intelligent Energy Systems Private Ltd (IESYS) - an end-to-end provider of decision support products and services for Australian energy markets. This internship is a part of the Australian Mathematical Sciences' Institute (AMSI) Industry Internship program. This project received $20,000 funding from the IESYS. Dr. David Tay was Selva's academic mentor. Brett Gebert, Andrew Reidy and Kim Hoffman were his industry supervisors.
""I learned a lot about Australian energy market from hands-on experience. I was able to understand the intricate relationship between power generation, economics of the market and the various constraints that binds them together. I successfully formulated a complex mathematical problem and solved it using mathematical techniques. This project helped me to develop my skills and knowledge in developing and deploying new optimization products in the commercial environment," said Selva.
Selva Murugesan recently completed his PhD degree in the Department of Electronic Engineering at LaTrobe University. His research interest are in the areas of multirate filter banks and wavelets.
