Industry cadetship program
Our Faculty industry cadetship program is open to undergraduate students in all of our courses. It gives you the opportunity to improve your theory and technical skills by working in industry.
In addition, you will learn how the work place operates, gain an understanding of career paths in your chosen industry and the different specialisations that are available to you. The cadetship experience may also clarify career directions, projects for postgraduate study, or lead to further employment opportunities.
Cadetships usually take place during the summer and winter study breaks, so there is no additional time requirement for the completion of your course. Some longer placements may be available including semester-long and year-long placements.
Cadetships usually commence in the second year of your degree, but where multiple placements are required you may begin in first year.
You must apply and compete for these positions through an interview and selection process. La Trobe's Careers Service can assist you with this process. Individual placement arrangements are then negotiated individually with the employer.

Cadetship opportunities will be available for cadetships during the following periods:
