The La Trobe Industry Cadetship Program for Science Majors

The best La Trobe science graduates are job-ready with the Industry Cadetship Program (ICP). ICP places science students with companies for industry-based experience in areas relevant to their course. The program is voluntary and competitive; companies assess applications and select the best student for their needs. Students are involved in short-term placements mid-year, 12 week summer placements, year-in-industry placements or multi-year industry scholarships.

Students gain real experience in industry and find opportunities to apply their knowledge. This experience assist the development of the skills and experience required for later employment.

In2science Peer Mentoring in Schools Program

Nanotechnology students may also have the opportunity to assist and encourage high school science students through the In2science Peer Mentoring in Schools Program. Participants volunteer their time
for a few hours per week to work in the classroom as role models for high school students, encouraging them to raise their aspirations and achieve their full potential in science subjects.
