Scholarships and prizes

La Trobe University offers its students access to a large pool of scholarships and prizes each year.

Visit the Scholarships site for information on all scholarships and prizes, and application details. It is also worth checking the current handbook for a listing of Mildura scholarships.

Some scholarships are offered university-wide. Others are offered to students of a particular course, faculty or campus. Many scholarships are for students starting their first year in a course, while others are for students in subsequent years. There are prizes and awards for leading students in particular areas.

It’s worth applying

You’d be surprised at how many applicants succeed!

Scholarships are designed to encourage and support all kinds of students. People often assume scholarships are awarded for academic merit, but many are specifically for students who are experiencing financial difficulties, or who come from particular communities. Mildura has a number of scholarships open only to students from the region.

Have a look at the eligibility criteria, and if you’re not sure if you should apply, talk with Student Support Services.

Chances for Children

La Trobe University Mildura students can also apply for financial support through Chances for Children, a fund that aims to remove financial barriers for children and young people in the Mallee to achieve their potential.
Chances for Children administers some funds dedicated specifically to supporting La Trobe Mildura students. Supported by local people and businesses including La Trobe, Chances has helped over 750 local young people from the Mallee to achieve their full potential.
