Edge of the Outback
This annual program takes students on a photographic journey through outback Australia. Students develop skills in digital and analogue photography and learn about traditional Australian landscapes and culture. Participants present their work in a gallery exhibition at the end of the program.

- Dates: two intakes per year, in mid-June and mid-July.
- Duration: 3 weeks.
- Fees: A$3,900 (2012).

The course is made up of several workshops and a field trip of approximately 5 days. It focuses on the exploration of imagery in the region's ancient landscape, and students learn about the country's history and culture. On the field trip students are joined by a local Aboriginal guide who provides special insight into the cultural significance of the area. The course is finished with an exhibit of students' work in a major regional art gallery.
The course fee includes the Mildura component of the program, and two nights accommodation in Melbourne (one before departure for Mildura, and one at the end of the program, both in shared rooms in a 3-star hotel in the city). Food is provided during the field trip. For all other days students are responsible for purchasing their own food.
