Dr Jennifer Hamilton-McKenzie
Jennifer completed the first comprehensive historical study of the founding of Mildura in her PhD thesis, 'California Dreaming: the Establishment of the Mildura Irrigation Colony'. Her research looked at the Chaffey brothers and their dreams of irrigating the parched Mallee landscape.
She is currently exploring the political, social and environmental ramifications of the proposal to build a dam at Chowilla in the 1960s.
