Scholarships, prizes and awards
La Trobe provides a number of scholarships to assist students with their studies in times of financial need. There are also many awards and prizes that provide recognition of academic achievement.
Scholarships
Dean's Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Ten scholarships are available each year for eligible students commencing in undergraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering.
Prizes
Australian Society for Microbiology Prize ($75)
Awarded to the most outstanding Second Year student completing Introductory Microbiology and Medical and Veterinary Microbiology who is continuing on to Advanced Medical and Veterinary Microbiology and Advanced Microbiology
Australian Society for Microbiology Prize ($150)
Awarded to the most outstanding Third Year student completing the subjects Advanced Medical and Veterinary Microbiology and Advanced Microbiology.
R.D. Schnagl Award ($200)
Awarded to the most outstanding Third Year student in Microbiology who is enrolled in an Honours degree in the Department of Microbiology in the following year.
