Innovative Wetland Systems

Wetland System A simulated billabong system was created and now functions as settling ponds to remove sediments, pollutants and nutrients, regulating the quality and rate at which stormwater enters the University moat system and into Darebin Creek.

A new settlement pond system is to be built on the eastern end of the Sanctuary to treat the increased runoff created by the housing development on the sold Mont Park site.
