Dr. Terrie Waddell lectures in the subjects 'Constructing Communication', 'Sex and the Media', 'Women (gender) in Media' and 'Media and the Spectacular'. Her research interests include the representation of gender in popular culture, carnival, the grotesque, and analytical psychology. Mis/takes: Archetype, Myth and Identity in Screen Fiction has just been released by Routledge and her previous co-edited publication, Lounge Critic: The Couch Theorist's Companion was produced in conjunction with The Australian Centre for the Moving Image and the Australian Film Commission. Her current research project Wild/lives, will be Terrie's second book on television, film and analytical psychology. Originally trained as an actor (VCA) she has worked in film, educational video, television, theatre and radio.
