Wendy is a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor of Health Science, Graduate Certificate in Midwifery and Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Nursing. She has broad nursing experience in Paediatric, Midwifery and Maternal and Child Health fields. Prior to joining MCHR, she worked as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in both rural and urban settings. In October 2009, she joined MCHR to take up a position as project officer for the CASTLE Study under the supervision of Dr Lisa Amir. The CASTLE study is an NHMRC-funded project which aims to investigate the role of micro-organisms (Staphylococcus aureus & Candida albicans) in the pathogenesis of breast pain and infection in lactating women.

Funding: NHMRC Project Grant, 2009-2010 
Status: Ethics approval obtained from La Trobe University, Royal Women's Hospital and Frances Perry House. Recruitment commencing in October 2009.
