Scholarships for mature-age students

Radford Foundation Second Chance Scholarship

The Radford Foundation and Deb Radford wish to support commencing students aged between 20 and 30 years, who have been unable to undertake study previously due to financial hardship.

Two scholarships, with a value of $7,500 per annum for 3 years, are offered for students commencing their first undergraduate course in any discipline.

To be eligible you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident
  • intending to commence your first undergraduate degree in any discipline at La Trobe in 2018
  • aged between 20 and 30 years at the time of application
  • able to demonstrate financial hardship.

The George and Lisl Singer Scholarship

Gary Singer and Geoffrey Smith wish to fund an undergraduate scholarship named after Gary’s parents, George and Lisl Signer. During his distinguished career at La Trobe, Professor George Singer was appointed the Foundation Chair of Psychological Science and received many honours. One scholarship, with a value of $7,500 per annum for 3 years, is being offered for students studying psychology.

To be eligible you must be:

  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident, who was not born in Australia
  • intending to commence full-time study in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in psychology in 2018
  • intending to enrol at any campus of La Trobe University
  • experiencing financial disadvantage.

Please note, preference will be given to applicants over the age of 21 years.
