Albury-Wodonga

When is the course offered?

In 2012 the Tertiary Enabling Program will start on 23 July and finish on 7 December. There will be a two week mid semester break from 24 September to 5 October.

Classes will be conducted on the La Trobe University campus at Albury-Wodonga from 10.00am – 4.00pm on two separate days, Tuesdays and Fridays. This includes a lunch break from 12 noon – 1:00pm and an optional tutorial class from 3:00 – 4:00pm.

The tutorial classes are not structured and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and seek additional support and guidance.

How do I apply?

In order to apply for a place in the Tertiary Enabling Program you will need to complete an application form and submit this directly to TEP team in Albury-Wodonga. Download the application form here [Word doc 388KB].

Applicants may be invited to an individual, informal interview as part of the expression of interest process. An interview will be an essential requirement for applicants under 21.

The Tertiary Enabling Program has been delivered in Albury-Wodonga since 1990. It was previously known as the University Bridging Program.

What support services are available?

Student Support Services

A range of support services are available including personal and financial counselling, accommodation advice and assistance for students with disabilities and/or special needs.

Academic Services – Library

Enrolled students will be issued with an ID card providing access to the Learning Resource Centre, with a general orientation tour in the first week of the program.

Student Association

Students undertaking the Tertiary Enabling Program have the opportunity to participate in activities organised by the Student Association.

Is there child care?

There is a child care centre on campus, although places may be limited. Please contact the centre on (02) 6055 6653 if you would like more information about their services.

Where can I park?

Car parking space is available on campus. Students may also decide to car pool if convenient. A bus service visits the main campus on a limited basis from Albury and Wodonga.

Bendigo

When is the course offered?

Proposed dates for 2013 for the Tertiary Enabling Program are:
Semester 2: Commencing the week of 29 July and finishing the week ending 6 December.

Program Structure

Classes are conducted on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00am – 4:00pm. On Tuesdays classes are held at the La Trobe Bendigo campus and Fridays at the Bendigo TAFE campus. This includes a lunch break from 12 noon – 1:00pm and an optional tutorial class from 3:00 – 4:00pm.

The tutorial classes are not structured and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and seek additional support and guidance.

Additional sessions by mentors are available throughout the week to provide extra assistance. Timetable and start and finish dates may change.

What support services are available?

Student Support Services

A range of support services are available including personal and financial counselling and assistance for students with disabilities and/or special needs.  There is also support for students from refugee backgrounds.  Specific support for students completing assignments through the academic language and learning unit.

Academic Services – Library

Enrolled students will be issued with a La Trobe University Student ID card which provides access to the Library with full student borrower privileges. A general orientation tour occurs in the first week of the program to familiarise students with the Library and its resources. 

Student Association

Students undertaking the Tertiary Enabling Program have the opportunity to become members of the Bendigo Student Association (BSA) and to participate in activities and events they organise.

Shepparton

When is the course offered?

In 2012 the Tertiary Enabling Program will start 24 July and finish on 7 December. There will be a two week mid semester break from 24 September to 5 October which will coincide with school holidays.

Classes will be conducted on the La Trobe University and GOTAFE campuses in Shepparton from 10.00am – 4.00pm on two separate days: Tuesdays and Fridays. This includes a lunch break from 12noon – 1:00pm and a tutorial class from 3:00 – 4:00pm.

The tutorial classes are not structured and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and seek additional support.

Where can I park?

Limited visitor parking is available next to the building in Stewart Street. Ask at reception for a permit card. There are two more parking areas that are shared with Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE.

A disabled parking space is available at the front of the building (entry from Fryers Street). There is also free, on-street parking near the building and surrounding streets, but time limits apply.

Mildura

When is the course offered?

In 2012 the Tertiary Enabling Program will start 30 July and finish on 12 December. There will be a two week mid semester break from 24 September to 5 October.

Classes will be conducted on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.00am – 4.00pm. On Mondays classes will be held at the SuniTAFE campus and Wednesdays at the La Trobe Mildura campus. This includes a lunch break from 12 noon – 1:00pm and an optional tutorial class from 3:00 – 4:00pm.

The tutorial classes are not structured and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and seek additional support and guidance.

Classes will be conducted at the Kangan Institute campus in Broadmeadows, Melbourne from 10.00am – 4.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This includes a lunch break from 12 noon – 1.00pm and a tutorial class from 3.00 – 4.00pm on each day.

The tutorial classes are not structured and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and seek additional support.
