Six steps to apply

Step 1: Choose your course
La Trobe offers more than 120 undergraduate courses in a range of subject areas across its five Victorian campuses. Browse through La Trobe’s different faculties or search Find a Course to find courses that interest you.
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) also provide overviews of La Trobe courses.
Step 2: Know your requirements
Check individual course entries in Find a Course to familiarise yourself with any prerequisite studies or extra requirements.
The completion of a Pi (Personal information) form is required by all applicants who are currently not studying at a secondary school. Depending on the course you are applying for, other requirements may include prerequisite studies, folio presentations, maths tests or biographical essays. Read more about extra requirements.

Step 3: Consider your entry pathways
If you are concerned that you may not meet the minimum entry requirements for your preferred course, La Trobe can help. We offer special entry schemes, preparatory programs and bridging courses that can assist you gain entry into your chosen course.
Through Special Entry Access Schemes (SEAS) La Trobe offers a range of avenues for admission to university for students whose applications are deserving of extra consideration, including the Mature-Age Special Entry Scheme – for applicants who haven’t completed year 12 or its equivalent. If you’re applying through VTAC, complete a SEAS application as a part of your online application. If you’re applying through UAC, download and complete a UAC Alternative Category Entry Form (PDF 20Kb) and submit it to the University.

Step 4: Come and visit us
Come to one of La Trobe’s friendly, informative, mature-age events. We offer a range of events at our campuses including Open Days, Mid-Year Entry Expos, campus tours and information evenings.
Step 5: Apply
Mid-Year entry
Applications are now open for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Apply now.
Semester 1, 2013 entry
You can apply to study at La Trobe by submitting an application through VTAC, or UAC for interstate students applying to La Trobe’s Albury-Wodonga and Mildura campuses.
Timely applications close at 5pm on 28th of September, 2012. Applications are accepted after this date but a late fee will apply. Once you have applied, you have plenty of time in which to change your preference.
Step 6: Accept your offer
If you are offered a place at La Trobe for 2013, you will receive a letter of offer from VTAC or UAC, then an enrolment pack from La Trobe. To accept your offer, all you need to do is come along and enrol. All the details about when, where and how to enrol will be in your enrolment pack.
