Mature-Age Special Entry

Mature-Age Special Entry to La Trobe is one avenue to university for people who haven't completed VCE or an equivalent. It's administered through Category 1 of VTAC's Special Entry and Access Scheme (SEAS).

To be eligible for Mature-Age Special Entry to La Trobe, you must not have completed Year 12 (VCE or equivalent). Also, you must:

  • be 21 or older on 1 January 2013
  • complete the VTAC Personal History Online form
  • sit the appropriate Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) as specified in individual course entries in Find a Course.
  • complete any other Mature-Age Special Entry requirements specified in individual course entries in
    Find a Course.

It's important to note that applying for Mature-Age Special Entry doesn't guarantee you a place in your preferred course.

But if you don't receive an offer, it's not the end of the road - there are other pathways into La Trobe, including completing a TAFE course, enrolling in another university course or undertaking single subject studies.

Read more about the STAT, the VTAC Personal History Online form and other extra requirements, or contact La Trobe's Future Students Centre.
