Credit for previous study

If you’ve studied at a TAFE, university or other post-secondary institution, you may receive recognition of that study which will give you Advanced Standing in your La Trobe course (i.e. you might not have to complete all subjects in your course). The relevant La Trobe faculty determines your eligibility when you enrol. You simply need to apply for credit for previous study when you enrol in your La Trobe course.

La Trobe also offers students from various TAFEs and other institutions the opportunity to fast-track their undergraduate degree via credit for successful or partial completion of specific Diploma or Advanced Diploma programs.

Various institutions have credit agreements for La Trobe degrees. The tables on the linked pages outline the credit you’ll receive for studies at these institutions if you gain a place in an undergraduate course at La Trobe.

Please note that entry is competitive, and not guaranteed on the basis of prior studies.

If you don’t see your institution listed, don’t worry - La Trobe will still take your relevant prior studies into account.
