AMSI Summer School 2010 Registration

Registration

To register for the AMSI Summer School 2010, please complete the application form.

Note: Applications for the second round of registrations have closed. There are still some places left; applications for registration and funding will now be considered on an individual basis, while places remain.

Registration fees
Affiliation Cost
AMSI member $195
Non-AMSI member $390

Registration fees are a flat rate fee and do not depend on how many courses you plan to attend, whether you are a student or staff member, or whether you are awarded a subsidy. AMSI affiliation refers to either full or associate AMSI membership.

Registrants who wish to withdraw their Summer School application and obtain a refund of the registration fee must apply to do so by 14 December 2009.

Information for Summer School 2010 Applicants

ICE-EM Subsidies for AMSI Students

A number of subsidies for travel and accommodation (including breakfast and dinner) will be available for AMSI student applicants. All students who will be (or expect to be) enrolled at honours or postgraduate level at an AMSI member institution in Semester 1, 2010, are encouraged to apply.

Accommodation Bookings for Self-funded Participants

Accommodation bookings for all participants can be made through the registration page.

Course Selection

When you register, you will be asked to choose 1 or 2 courses. You may change this choice at a later stage, but please note that courses may not be offered if there is not a sufficient level of interest by the close of the first round of registrations. Note also that for timetabling reasons, not all combinations are possible. There are 3 incompatible pairs: see the Courses page for details.

If you wish to undertake a course for credit, you should contact your course coordinator, before registration, to ensure that AMSI Summer School courses will be recognized by your Department. Also, you should be aware that several Departments will only allow credit for at most one AMSI Summer School course.

Endorsement

Student applicants will need to have their application endorsed by an academic sponsor (eg Honours or Postgraduate Program Coordinator, Head of Department). They will be asked to verify your details and consider your selection of courses for suitability. This is an important part of the process of determining possible financial assistance, and will also be necessary where students take courses for credit. When you register you will be asked to state the course you are enrolled in, or will be enrolled in, and the name of the appropriate coordinator.

International Applicants

International students are very welcome in the summer school, but you must be enrolled as an honours or postgraduate student in an Australian Institution at the time of the Summer School. The organising Committee regrets that it cannot accept registrations from other international applicants, as the past experience of AMSI Summer Schools has shown that this would otherwise create an unacceptable administrative burden and result in very few registrations.
