Research interests
- Differential geometry applied to problems in mechanics and to the study of dynamical systems. Including topics; the geometry of systems of second-order ordinary differential equations, theory and applications of connections, the inverse problem of the calculus of variations, symmetry and reduction of mechanical systems, modelling of non-holonomic mechanics, Lagrangian mechanics on Lie algebroids and generalisations of bi-Hamiltonian systems.
