Mathematics and statistics pathways
At Bendigo, a Mathematics and Statistics Major is available in the Bachelor of Science degree and Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Science Education double degree. This major is recommended for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career which requires mathematical, statistical or analytical skills, including teaching in the later secondary years.
For teaching mathematics in the middle years of schooling, a Prep to Year 10 Mathematics Discipline Study is available in the Bachelor of Education degree.
Mathematics and statistics can be included in many degrees apart from the BSc and BEd. These courses (with links to the La Trobe Handbook) include Accounting, Arts, Business, Information Technology and Psychological Science. As well, mathematics is a core component of the Civil Engineering course.
