The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University is an active group of mathematicians and statisticians. We are committed to quality teaching and to developing and maintaining research programs in a variety of areas. Staff are also involved in consulting work within the wider community.

Lectures and Seminars
- The G. S. Watson Annual Lecture was established in 1999 in memory of Professor Geoffrey S. Watson, a distinguished Bendigo-born mathematician. The 2012 G. S. Watson Lecture will be presented at 4.30pm on Wednesday 22 August by Professor Brian Davey from La Trobe University's Melbourne campus – details to follow.
