The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University is an active group of mathematicians and statisticians. We are committed to quality teaching and to developing and maintaining research programs in a variety of areas. Staff are also involved in consulting work within the wider community.
Studying Mathematics and Statistics

Lectures and Seminars
- The G. S. Watson Annual Lecture was established in 1999 in memory of Professor Geoffrey S. Watson, a distinguished Bendigo-born mathematician. The 2009 Watson Lecture "Do Australian parents want both a son and a daughter?" will be presented on Thursday 20 August by Dr Rebecca Kippen of the Australian National University.
