Social Activities

The team at LUPA knows the importance of having some fun to balance all that academic activity! LUPA holds a number of social activities throughout the year just for this express purpose. Some events differ from year to year while others are a permanent fixture in the LUPA calendar.

LUPA in conjunction with the Research and Graduate Studies Office (RGSO) hosts the orientations for new postgraduates undertaking a research degree. This gives new students the opportunity to learn about LUPA.

Our Annual Cultural Night is eagerly anticipated by international and local students alike. With acts from around the world performed by postgraduate students and supported by others in the community, it gives the audience a taste of internationalism as well as the opportunity to make new friends.

At City Campus, students are given the opportunity to meet each other over a slice of pizza at the Pizza Nights. These often coincide with seminars held at City Campus.

In 2005, our first Wine Tasting and Cheese Night was held. While tasting wine made by La Trobe's very own viticulturists, attendees could bid on donated items in a silent auction. It was a much enjoyed evening that will be repeated in future years.
