Huge Festival in the West - come and celebrate Diwali 2009!

Saturday October 3 from 9am-9pm in Whitten Oval, West Footscray

The Diwali celebration marks the annual Indian Festival of Lights and is the only place to be this weekend!

The Festival promises to be a spectacular community day of feasting, Bollywood dancing and frivolity in Melbourne’s multicultural west.

Our MCs on the day are talented Indian-Australian film maker Kylie Boltin and renowned actor William McInnes.

Bring family and friends and have a game of cricket with special guest Merv Hughes, wat ch the Indian and Western fashion parade with Miss India Australia 2008 or simply enjoy the fantastic offerings of multicultural cuisine and culture.

The day will end in equally spectacular fashion with a huge flurry of fireworks at 8.30pm.

The celebrations will kick off at the Whitten Oval from 12 noon until late and will also include:

· Bollywood songs and dances · Classical Indian dances · Punjabi Bhangra and Giddha · Full band desi orchestra · Well known local singing sensations · Bollywood Talent Quest 2009 · Spectacular fireworks display at 8.30pm

Entry is free, so come along to the 2009 Diwali Festival, a day not to be missed with family and friends.
